Dear customer, Before placing your new refrigerator/freezer into operation please read these operating instructions carefully. They contain important information for safe use, for installation and for care of the appliance. Please keep these operating instructions for future reference. Pass them on to possible new owners of the appliance. These operating instructions are for use with several technically com- parable models with varying accessories.
Safety The safety of our refrigerators/freezers is in accordance with recog- nised technological standards and appliance safety legislation. We nevertheless feel that it is important to acquaint you with the follow- ing safety guidelines: Intended use • The freezer is intended for use in the home. It is suitable for the fre- ezing of fresh food and storing frozen food, as well as for making ice.

Safety catches, if fitted. By doing this you ensure that children cannot lock themselves in the appliance when playing (there is risk of suffocati- on!) or get themselves into other dangerous situations. • Often children cannot recognise the hazards present in household appliances.
Disposal Appliance Packaging Information All materials are environmentally sound! They can be disposed of or burned at an incinerating plant without danger. About the materials: The plastics can be recycled and are identified as follows: >PE< for polyethylene, e.g. the outer covering and the bags in the interior.
Remove transport packaging The appliance and the interior fittings are protected for transport. 1. Pull off the adhesive tape on the left and right side of the door. 2. Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance.
Installation It is necessary to avoid overheating of the appliance by maintaining adequate distances from heat sources and by the use of a suitable thermal insulation plate. Proper ventilation of the appliance must also be ensured. Your refrigerator needs ventilation Integratable models (i-appliances) min.
Installation Installation option 2: Operation of E-appliances is possible even without a ventilation opening in the furniture plinth. Operating and indicator panel Important! Only use the appliance when built-in! Warning system The warning system comprises of an optical warning light (red) and an acoustic warning tone. The red warning blinks and the warning tone signal an alarm if the temperature in the freezer compartment is too warm. Temperature Warning The red warning light illuminates and the warning tone sounds if the temperature in the freezer compartment is warmer than -12°C.
Setting „4“ means: lowest, coldest internal temperature Recommended regulator setting: „2-3“. 1. Plug the mains plug into the mains socket. 2. Turn the temperature regulator (B) in the direction of „O“; a sound is on only for 2 sec. The compressor starts and then runs automatically. 3 .The red lamp (E) flashed and the sound alarm signal.
Freezing and storing frozen food You can use your freezer for freezing fresh food yourself. Important! • The temperature in the freezer compartment must be –18°C or col- der before freezing food. • Please observe the freezing capacity given on the rating plate. The freezing capacity is the maximum quantity of fresh food that can be frozen within a period of 24 hours.
Tips: • The following are suited for the packaging of frozen goods: – freezer bags and polyethylene wraps; – special containers for frozen goods; – extra–thick aluminium foil. • The following are suitable for sealing bags and wrap: plastic clips, rubber bands or tape.
Defrosting During use and when the door is opened, moisture is deposited as frost inside the appliance, particularly on the evaporator. This frost must be removed from time to time using the soft plastic scraper supplied. Under no circumstances use hard or pointed objects for this purpose. The freezer should always be defrosted when the layer of frost has reached a thickness of approx.
Cleaning and Care For hygienic reasons the appliance interior, including interior acces- sories, should be cleaned regularly. Warning! • The appliance must not be connected to the mains during cleaning. Danger of electrical shock! Before cleaning switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse.
Magnetic door seal After opening and closing the door of your freezer you will not be able to open the door again immediately. This is because a vacuum will have developed inside, keeping the door closed until the pressures inside and outside the door have equalised. After a few minutes you can easily reopen the door.

Regulations, Standards, Guidelines This appliance was designed for household use and was manufactured in accordance with the appropriate standards. The necessary measures in accordance with appliance safety legislation regulations (GSG), acci- dent prevention regulations for refrigeration appliances (VBG 20) and the regulations of the German Society of Electrical Engineers (VDE) were observed in the manufacture of this appliance.
Technical Terminology • Refrigerant Liquids that can be used to a generate a cooling effect are known as refrigerants. They have a relatively low boiling-point, indeed so low, that the warmth from the food stored in the fridge or freezer can cause the refrigerant to boil and vaporise.
