    External component identification Finding your hardware and software information Locating hardware To find out what hardware is installed on your computer: From the Start screen, type c, and then select Control Panel. Select System and Security, and then in the System area, click Device Manager. A list displays all the devices installed in your computer.

    Equipment guidelines Grounding equipment must include either a wrist strap or a foot strap at a grounded workstation. ● When seated, wear a wrist strap connected to a grounded system. NOTE: To use a dual-channel configuration with a second memory module, be sure that both memory modules are identical.

Stand the computer on its left side. Insert a thin non-conducting tool into one of the two keyboard release holes, and then press on the back of the keyboard until the keyboard disengages from the computer.

    Carefully invert the TouchPad button board (1). Release the ZIF connector to which the TouchPad LED board cable is connected, and then disconnect the TouchPad LED board cable (2) from the TouchPad button board. Lift the TouchPad button board away from the top cover (3). Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad button board and cable.

NOTE: It may be necessary to release the USB board ZIF cable to remove the wireless antenna cables. CAUTION: Support the display assembly when removing the following screws. Failure to support the display assembly can result in damage to the display and other computer components.
  • Page 70 If it is necessary to replace the display bezel or any of the display assembly subcomponents: Remove the plastic screw covers (1) and the two Phillips M2.5 × 3.5 screws (2) that secure the display bezel to the display assembly. Flex the inside edges of the top edge (1), the left and right sides (2), and the bottom edge (3) of the display bezel until the bezel disengages from the display enclosure.
